Ok, unless something’s going on I’m not aware of (extremely likely), I gotta point out the term “Pet Play” is significantly older than Tik Tok, or most of its userbase for that matter.
Yeah, I’m not mad about using the term “pet play”. That’s a perfectly fine term. I’m mad because they didn’t use that term: they used “pet p!ay”, a censored version

To anybody who is new to posting on ao3, if you’re using a tag you have to use the correct spelling of that tag. People aren’t going to type in every version of a censored word to hide or look for your content 
For everyone new to tumblr, the same rule applies to tumblr too.
You cannot censor your tags! Censored tags cannot be block or filtered. Censoring tags HARMS your audience, it does not protect them

i feel like alot of people don’t seem to understand that when people online are like “"I want a movie where the man cries” or “I want an anime where they don’t sexualize little girls” they don’t actually base weather or not they want to watch a piece of media on “does this have a trope i like/don’t like”. they just want the media they already like to have not have that shitty trope. when somebody complains about common tropes in shonen anime and you are like “well maybe you should stop watching shonen anime” it’s like no they actually do like one piece they just don’t like the occasional transmisogyny that sometimes comes with it.
like yeah i guess if i wanted to watch media that is not bad, i could watch media that’s really good, but alot of media that’s really good doesn’t have the elements that i enjoy from media that is bad, so you see the issue here?
like i suppose if i don’t enjoy the homophobia in persona 5 i COULD just watch downtown abbey but i don’t think it has quite the kind of gameplay and visuals that i enjoy in persona 😔

Tumblr is so funny because you can make a post like “hey do not mix bleach and vinegar in your cleaning, you’ll make chlorine gas and you do not want to make chlorine gas. It is dangerous to mix these two specific chemicals together”, and the comments are like
“Um vinegar isn’t dangerous?? My mom cleans things with vinegar all the time and we have never had lung issues. White people are insane.” (<- does not use bleach, missing the point)
“OH MY GOD BLEACH IS CHLORINE GAS? NOBODY EVER TOLD ME I’VE BEEN CLEANING WITH BLEACH MY WHOLE LIFE, I WILL DIE.” (<- has literally never used vinegar in cleaning, and never mixed the two, missing the point)
“This is just stupid fearmongering, we use bleach and vinegar to wash the floors all the time, OP is lying.” (<- does not actually know what “vinegar” is, and is confusing the word for something else)
“Yeah this is true enough but also keep in mind that this kind of household cleaning product chlorine gas is too weak and unreliable to use for domestic terrorism purposes.” (<- raises concerns, but potentially has a point)
